White Gate Studio is dedicated to creating handmade art for everyday life. It’s named after the chicken coop turned studio that sits behind a white gate on the farmland my father grew up on. Drive past the bubbling crick, old barn, and grazing cows and you’ll be overcome with the simple beauty that surrounds you. You might even hear echoes of my grandmother saying, “come back soon!” from the front porch. 

 

Behind that white gate I learned what it means to find my own quiet rhythm. I also came to believe that handcrafted pieces have a place smack dab in the middle of our everyday lives. Fine art shouldn’t be tucked behind museum walls. It isn’t out of place in that rural chicken coop studio…and it’s surely not out of place in the spaces we love most.
